TRAINING & CAPACITY BUILDING OF NGOs

Besides implementing various projects , APS is also involved in conducting various training programmes for health workers on Primary Health and HIV/AIDS/STDs by trained and experienced resource team. APS is part of the Technical Resource Team for Capacity Building of NGOs of North East India and was involved in conducting several training programmes for NGOs of Manipur, Assam, Meghalaya & Nagaland.

CARE & SUPPORT WITH COUNSELLING FOR PLWHA

APS is involved in providing Counselling , Care and Support, Advocacy, nutritional counselling and addressing various Legal, Ethical and Human Rights issues of PLWHA.

MIGRANT LABOUR POPULATION & CROSS BORDER ISSUES

APS has conducted the Migrant Labour Population Need Assessment Study and the cross border issues related to HIV/AIDS in the North East India to understand the prevailing situation in Lad-Rymbai town in the Jowai district in the state of Meghalaya.

AIDS EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS

AIDS Prevention Society has been involved in "YOUTH & AIDS PROJECT" -AIDS Education in Schools Programme since 1994. 20 schools were covered under the programme and another 25 schools are being planned to be covered under the project. AIDS Prevention Society was involved by NACO & UNICEF in the regional planning phase for AIDS Education Programme in North East India and APS was responsible along with State AIDS Cell officials of Govt. of Assam for preparing the State Plan for AIDS Education in Schools in Assam. APS Chairman, presented the paper "Need for Intervention with School Students" at the third Regional Workshop on AIDS education in Schools organized by NACO, Govt. of India in Aizawl, Mizoram State in Collaboration with UNICEF, UNESCO, UNAIDS & UNFPA.

NORTH EAST INDIA HIGHWAY HEALTH PROGRAMME (NEIHHP)
APS is a partner along with Bosco Reach Out & National Alliance Mission in the implementation of the NEIHHP - Primary Health Care Services through established Health Centres and the Targeted intervention Project for Truck Drivers & Helpers in Meghalaya along National Highway 37, 40 & 44 (Khanapara to Mawdyngkeneng ).
